O.M.GOSH-iganS Event Up-date

We are on day 2 of the O.M.GOSH-iganS Charity Event and it has been a smashing success! We have collected $75,000L each day and we still have one more day left of the event. That’s over $150,000L which doesn’t sound like much, and it isn’t, but every little bit helps.

O.M.GOSH-iganS Charity Event

Hi all, this is a really important post. There are lot’s of charity organization’s out there. Relay for Life is a wonderful organization that is near and dear to a lot of people’s heart’s in the US and SL. Relay for Life is a fund raiser for The American Cancer Society.

O.M.GOSH-iganS Charity Event

Relay for Life is an American run fund raising organization for cancer research. The monies raised stay in the United States to fund research and providing lodging for patients and families while under-going treatments.

Great Ormond Street Hospital (informally GOSH or Great Ormond Street, formerly the Hospital for Sick Children) is a children’s hospital located in the Bloomsbury area of London, and a part of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.

The hospital has relied on charitable support since it first opened. One of the main sources for this support is Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Whilst the NHS meets the day-to-day running costs of the hospital, the fundraising income allows Great Ormond Street Hospital to remain at the forefront of child healthcare. The charity also purchases up-to-date equipment, and provides accommodation for families and staff.

Great Ormond Street Hospital not only provides care for children in the U.K, but they also go to other countries to care for children as well as providing care to children abroad.

I’m not British by any means, but my partner is and seems most of my friends in SL are. My partner and I were talking about Relay for Life and how much good it does. Relay for Life has grown every year until now it’s a huge multi-sim affair. Us along with the owner’s of ShenaniganS wanted to give back to our communities. We have started a fund-raising campaign called “O.M.GOSH-iganS” that we are hoping will become half as big as Relay for Life in years to come.

The event will be held July 24-26th from 4am to 4pm SLT. We will have entertainment and hopefully some of our wonderful designer’s will  have limited edition’s to offer. This is lineup of entertainment so far. We are still looking for more live performer’s and DJ’s

And lastly, a limo to ShenaniganS

Interesting tidbit:

The Hospital is known internationally for receiving from J. M. Barrie the copyright to Peter Pan in 1929, which has provided significant funding for the institution.

Where everyone knows your name…Because it’s over your head. When I first went here, I loved the build and the DJ, but didn’t think Id go back. Fast forward a week, My husband says “Umm, I am hosting Friday. Me: you are? Him: at Shen’s. Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather because well, we had talked about him hosting at other clubs. He didn’t want to.
